Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone, who was summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday, will now join the investigation on Saturday.
Padukone’s name had emerged in several WhatsApp chats found during the agency’s investigation. Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash, an employee of the talent management agency, KWAN will also join the probe on Friday.
NCB who is investigating the drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case where several A list actors are under the scanner has also questioned designer Simone Khambatta for almost four hours at Evelyn Guest House of NCB at Colaba.
Shruti Modi, Sushant’s business manager, was also questioned by the agency. Rakul Preet Singh, who was supposed to join the investigation today, showed no response from her end as per NCB. Deputy director KPS Malhotra, NCB, said, “Her summons were issued and she was contacted through various platforms, including her phone. But there has been no response so far from her.” Also, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor to whom notices were served on Wednesday have been asked to join the probe by Saturday.
KWAN, a talent management agency, was under the scanner after NCB questioned Rajput’s talent manager Jaya Saha for the three days, chief executive officer Dhruv Chitgopekar for two days. With them, it was also Madhu Mantena who was questioned on Wednesday. Jaya Saha has spilled many beans after which several people related to Bollywood are under the radar of NCB. So far, NCB has arrested 19 accused, including Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, SSR domestic staff and various drug peddlers.
