Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and BJP Candidate for Udhampur, Doda, Kathua Lok Sabha constituency, emphasized the significant strides made in infrastructure development, particularly road connectivity, in Doda district under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dr. Jitendra Singh highlighted that despite decades of Congress and allied governments’ rule, including the UPA government from 2004 to 2014, failing to provide decent road connectivity between Doda and Bhaderwah, Prime Minister Modi’s tenure since 2014 has witnessed a transformative change. He pointed out that remote villages in the district are now connected to the National Highway network.

During his election tour of peripheral hill villages such as Marmat, Gandoh, Kastigarh, Bulandpur, Goha, and Dhara, Dr. Jitendra Singh underscored the ongoing construction of National Highway 244, which will significantly improve connectivity. He noted that his native village, Kalota, will be linked to this highway along with neighboring villages like Humbal and Bergana, which will not only reduce travel time but also boost trade, revenue, and employment opportunities.

Dr. Jitendra Singh criticized the neglect of development in the region by past Congress and allied governments despite having local representatives in positions of power. He questioned whether there was a deliberate attempt to keep the region underdeveloped to manipulate voters during elections.

Highlighting the initiatives taken under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Dr. Jitendra Singh mentioned the establishment of three centrally funded medical colleges and several degree colleges in the constituency, irrespective of political considerations. He emphasized that this approach has shattered misconceptions about the BJP and demonstrated its commitment to equitable development.

Accompanying Dr. Jitendra Singh on his tour were former Minister and MLA Doda Shakti Parihar, former MLA Bhaderwah Dilip Singh Parihar, BJP President Vijay Thakur, DDC members, Sarpanches, local PRIs, and prominent activists of the region.
