State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra addressed the media on Wednesday from the state Congress war room. The PCC Chief took aim at the BJP government on various issues like, risings crime against women and indecisiveness. He further added that the state government is run by slips and U-turns. He criticised the government for cancelling appointments in the Urban Development and Housing (UDH) department and for the chaotic transfers in the education sector. Dotasra pointed out that the Education Minister, Madan Dilawar, acknowledged errors in the transfer list but later reversed decisions, highlighting the government’s lack of clarity. He further criticised the administration for failing to ensure adequate water and electricity supplies during the summer and for not assessing losses or providing compensation to farmers whose crops were damaged in the rainy season.
Dotasra also questioned the foreign tours taken by the chief minister and other ministers and officials under the banner of “Rising Rajasthan.” He asserted that they are failing to hold any productive meetings while abroad and are merely sightseeing. He warned that the people of the state will respond in the upcoming by-elections, emphasising that they were elected to serve the public and must fulfill their responsibilities.
Dotasra critiques govt’s inability to deliver services
The PCC Chief said that today the condition of the government is such that from the chief minister to the ministers and MLAs, no one can claim with confidence that they can get any work done. The situation is such that the morale of the bureaucracy has been broken. The public formed the government in Rajasthan, but governance is not visible. At the same time, in the case of SP’s location tracing, Dotasra said that the subordinates are tracing the location of an IPS, but no action has been taken against such personnel so far. This proves that no work is being done for women empowerment in the state. Tracing location is a very serious matter, so the government should investigate and act.
Dotasra calls for clarity on SI exam
In the burning issue of the SI exam, Govind Singh Dotasra criticised the ambiguous statements from government ministers. He said that, while some claim the exam has been cancelled, others assert it has not. He called for an immediate decision on SI recruitment, emphasising the need for new job opportunities for the public.
Dotasara pointed out that BJP leaders have been criticising the government for the past 10 months, highlighting that paper leaks have occurred in various exams across the country, including the recent NEET leak, which resulted in multiple arrests, yet the government has not acknowledged these incidents. He recalled that when his party was in power, the REET paper leak led to its cancellation, followed by a new exam and subsequent appointments for the selected candidates. He urged the current government to take action against such crimes.
‘Public hearing used to be held during Congress rule’
Dotasra further picked on the ‘public hearing’ that was initiated by the BJP government. He advised that the government should bring schemes for the public and listen to the problems of the public.
Taking a dig at the BJP›s public hearing, he said that one day there was a public hearing in the BJP office for two and a half hours and from the next day the public hearing stopped. The room in which the public hearing was being held is now closed.
Dotasra said, “During the Congress government, public hearings were held in our headquarters. Hundreds of people used to come with their grievances every day and the public›s work was done. The public knew where to take their problems so that they could be resolved. Here the minister is saying that if I am not a minister, where should the public go. The MLA says that we have no say. If this is not a tamasha then what is it?”
‘The decision on alliance is of the high command’
At the same time, regarding the by-elections to be held in the state, he said, “We have completed the preparations. Senior observers have been appointed and they will be announced soon. Our teams are working everywhere. Soon the AICC secretary will meet the people willing to contest the elections and will give his report to the state Congress committee. After this, we will meet with the state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and send the ticket proposal to the high command. Whoever the high command decides will be the candidate. We had an alliance in the Lok Sabha elections. The decision of alliance is taken by the party high command. The state Congress committee has no role in this. If the party high command decides on alliance, we will fight the election in alliance, otherwise we will fight on all seven seats. The candidate will be the one whom the public wants. The opinion of the Congress workers will be important in the selection of the candidate.”
On the defeat of the Congress party in Haryana, Dotasra said, “The Haryana election was different and the by-election here was different. Here the BJP government has failed. Our organisation is very strong here and all of us leaders are working together. BJP should not live in this misunderstanding. He said that there is no consultation in BJP. A slip comes and the decision is taken. After that a U-turn is also taken.
