Donald Trump's Hush Money Trial: Stormy Daniels Testifies Against the Former US President

Stormy Daniels, a porn star, testified against former US President Donald Trump in a Manhattan courtroom. According to her lawyer, Clark Brewster, “she wore a bulletproof vest every day.”

According to Brewster, who gave an exclusive interview to CNN, “She was paralysed with fear—not of expressing her tale or taking a position, but of what might some nuts do to her? And I really am worried about it too.

“She was concerned about the security coming into New York. She’s very concerned about that and because she lives in an area that might not have the level of security that she’d feel comfortable with,” he said.

“I can tell you that before she came on Sunday. I mean, she cried herself to sleep.”

Brewster also informed CNN that Daniels wore her daughter’s necklace to court for emotional support.

He remarked, “It was really cute that she did that,” revealing that her daughter, Caden Crain, crafted the necklace.

Daniels’ apprehension was not unwarranted, as she had previously expressed similar concerns in a documentary earlier this year. In the film, she disclosed that her decision to accept hush money was motivated by fear for her personal safety.

This sentiment was echoed by Brewster and surfaced following Daniels’ testimony, which detailed explicit allegations of a purported sexual encounter with Trump in 2006—an accusation Trump vehemently denies.

Brewster suggested that Daniels’s moment to “shine” arrived when she faced cross-examination by the former president’s legal team because she is a “quick thinker” and was “very responsive” during her testimony.

Trump’s attorney claimed the alleged affair ‘never happened’

The legal showdown escalated as Trump’s attorney, Susan Necheles, cross-examined Daniels in an attempt to undermine her credibility. Necheles focused on Daniels’ financial gains from publicizing the alleged affair, portraying her as an unreliable witness and asserting that the alleged affair was fabricated because “it never happened.”

At the core of the case are 34 felony charges against the former president, alleging falsification of business records related to a $130,000 payment to Daniels. This payment, orchestrated by Trump’s former “fixer” Michael Cohen, was purportedly made to ensure Daniels’ silence about the alleged affair during the crucial period of the 2016 presidential election.
