District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya has taken stringent action by seeking written explanations from Block Development Officers (BDOs) of 13 blocks in Jammu for their below-par performance in delivering benefits under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
Convening a comprehensive performance review, the District Magistrate identified Akhnoor, Arnia, Bishnah, Bhalwal Brahmana, Dansal, Maira Mandrian, Mandal Phallain, Mathwar, Marh, Miran Sahib, Nagrota, Samwan, and Satwari blocks as falling short of the expected benchmarks in MGNREGA implementation.
Expressing disappointment over the findings, DM Sachin Kumar Vaishya has given the concerned BDOs a five-day deadline to submit detailed explanations for their lackluster performance. Failure to provide satisfactory justifications within the stipulated time frame will lead to further administrative proceedings.
In addition to the written explanations, all the BDOs are required to submit a precise action plan outlining measures to achieve the desired targets within the committed time frame. The administration is keen on ensuring accountability and prompt corrective measures to enhance the effectiveness of MGNREGA implementation in the identified blocks.
