To commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s 155th birth anniversary, District Legal Service Authority Panchkula organized peace rallies at Govt Girls Senior Secondary School, Sector 15 and Govt Post Graduate college, Sector 1, here. The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 500 people, including students, teachers, and local residents, with a main objective to spread awareness on Gandhian principles of truth and non-violence.
‘Jan Jan ka hai yahi naara, swachta hai desh humara’, ‘hum logi ki yahi gawahi, ghar mein rakho saaf safai’ were among the many slogans raised by the participants during the peace march.‘It is important to remember Gandhi and his principles as it is much needed in today’s time, especially when there is global conflict everywhere.’ Said Chief Judicial Magistrate/Secretaryof DLSA Ajay Kumar Ghanghas, who was present as the chief guest in this program. He was accompanied by Principal Narendra Siwach, Akanshya Yadav Advocate and Sumita Walia Advocate.
While interacting with the media persons, Ghanghas expressed how it is important to learn and advocate Gandhian principles especially within youth.
‘Through this peace march we want the people, especially the younger generation to learn more about Gandhi and how his principles were a driving force to the government’s many schemes including Swachh Bharat and Atma Nirbhar Bharat.’ Said Ajay Kumar Ghanghas.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate/ Secretary further added that it is important to educate the younger generation about Gandhian principles so that they are instilled with a sense of righteousness. ‘Through Gandhi’s principles, we teach the youth about sustainable living, sanitation, self-reliance, non-violence, and truth, and it is important especially during times of terrorism and global conflict.’ Said Ghangas.
