Today, district-level competitions on legal awareness were organized at Sector-1 College. This program was made possible through the collaboration of Shrimata Mansa Devi Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya and the Legal Literacy Cell of Government College, Sector 1. Dr. Rita Gupta, District Higher Education Officer and Principal of Shrimata Mansa Devi Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, formally inaugurated the program.
Students from 7 government colleges in Panchkula district participated in 9 competitions held during the program.
During the closing ceremony, the chief guest, IG Traffic Police HS Duhan, encouraged students to join the road safety awareness campaign. DCP Himadri Kaushik administered the oath to follow traffic rules. District Higher Education Officer Rita Gupta emphasized the importance of increasing knowledge about general legal awareness and the duty of all citizens to protect the rights of others.
Yashpal Singh, Principal of Sector 1 College, highlighted the significance of such competitions in raising legal awareness among students and encouraged their participation.
Program coordinator Dr. Archana mentioned the colleges participating in various competitions, including Sector-1 College, Government College Barwala, Government Post Graduate College for Girls Sector-14 Panchkula, Shri Mata Mansa Devi Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya Panchkula, Government College Morni, Raipur Rani College, and Aruna Asaf Ali Government College.
Competitions such as speech, debate, poetry recitation, PowerPoint presentation, skit, quiz, and on-the-spot painting were organized.
Speech competition: Aditya of Sector-1 College secured first place, followed by Shivani in second place and Mehak of Government Women’s College Sector 14 in third place.
Poetry recitation: Dhanashree from Sector 14 secured first place, followed by Priyanshi in second place and Deepika Sharma in third place.
Quiz competition: The team of Ajit and Chetan Sharma from Sector 1 College secured first place, followed by Harshit Sharma and Arzoo Khan from Aruna Asaf Ali Government College, Kalka in second place, and Bunty and Abhyudaya from Shri Mata Mansa Devi Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya in third place.
PowerPoint Presentation: Jasbir of Sector-1 College secured first place, followed by Avneesh of Sarthak Shrimata Mansa Devi Sanskrit College in second place, and Avneesh in third place.
Skit competition: The team of Renu, Tamanna Negi, Bhavana, Sarika, Furkat, Chetan, and Kirpa Ram from Sector-1 College secured first place.
Debate competition: The team of Aryan and Harvinder from Sector 1 College secured first place, followed by the team of Ashu and Bhupinder from Shrimata Mansa Devi Sanskrit College in second place, and the team of Mandeep and Raghuraj from Sector 1 College in third place.
On-the-spot painting: Muskaan of Sector 1 College secured first place, followed by Aastha and Tanuja of Sector 14 College in second and third place respectively.
