Tuesday saw the state government request a SIT (Special Investigation Team) investigation into the passing of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager, Disha Salian. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis told the Assembly in December of last year that a SIT will be established to look into the Salian’s death.
In October of this year, BJP leader Nitesh Rane demanded that senior Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray and his father answer the Disha Salian case, specifically focusing on UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray.
“Today Uddhav Thackeray will be addressing workers at Shivaji Park, Sanjay Raut says it is the day to speak the truth. So, will Uddhav Thackeray in today’s address speak the truth about his son Aaditya Thackeray’s involvement in the Disha Salian murder case? Weren’t drugs used in the party held before the death of Disha Salian?” Nitesh Rane said earlier.
On June 8, 2020, Salian supposedly fell from a high-rise building in Mumbai’s Malad neighbourhood and died. This occurred one week before Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered hanging from his home’s ceiling.
In this case, Mumbai police had filed a report of an accidental death.
