Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani strongly addressed officials of the Municipal Corporation, emphasizing the need for improved cleanliness, drainage, sewerage, and beautification of the city.
Devnani issued a stern warning that adhering to old patterns would not be acceptable and stressed the collective responsibility of keeping the city clean and attractive. He expressed the goal for Ajmer to lead the cleanliness rankings next year. Additionally, he instructed officials to rename KEM and erect a statue of Chandrashekhar Azad in Azad Park.
In a meeting on Wednesday, Devnani engaged with Municipal Corporation officials on various issues, including city beautification, cleanliness, drainage, sewerage, waste management, the smart city project, street vendors, and drain cleaning.
Emphasizing the city’s ranking in cleanliness surveys and the smart city initiative, Devnani provided guidance and directed officials to focus on crucial aspects of urban development. The meeting delved into several key issues aimed at enhancing the overall quality of life in the city, with a specific focus on strategies to improve drainage and sewerage infrastructure.
Devnani stressed the urgency of resolving sewage overflow issues before the onset of the monsoon. He urged proactive measures to prevent garbage from flowing onto roads when sewer covers open during heavy rainfall.
Regular cleaning of municipal drains was highlighted, emphasizing that officials should not limit their efforts to floating tenders just before the rains.
