Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram Rahim, who is currently serving life imprisonment in the case of sexual exploitation and murder, now wants to do cow service. For this, a proposal has also been sent to the Haryana Government by Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa, in which the Ashram has offered to cooperate with the State Cow Service Commission in making the state free from stray animals.
A month ago, Ram Rahim had got parole for the first time to celebrate his birthday.
This proposal of Ram Rahim was revealed in the meeting of Chief Minister Manohar Lal. In Chandigarh, CM was holding a meeting with the officials of the Cow Service Commission and Animal Husbandry Department to free Haryana from menace caused by abandoned animals.
However, no decision has been taken by the government in the meeting.
Earlier, Chief Minister Manohar Lal said in the meeting that an agreement should be made with social and religious institutions willing to run cow sheds on Panchayat land. Apart from this, a special grant will be given to the cowsheds offering to keep additional cows. CM said that the Animal Husbandry Department should ensure the tagging of 100 per cent of the livestock of the state as per the rules so that the animals of other states can be identified.
He added that a letter will also be written to the Central Government to give instructions to all the states to get the animals tagged in their respective states.
In the first phase, a campaign will be launched to make Gurugram, Hisar, Sirsa, Bhiwani, Karnal and Panipat districts free from stray animals. After that, the campaign will be run in other districts of the state.
