Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary, accompanied by SDM Mendhar, Mohammad Jahangir Khan, and Executive Engineers of JKSPDC, Mohammad Hussain and Showkat Hussain, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Parnai Hydroelectric Project’s (HEP) Head Race Tunnel (HRT), Penstock, and Power House sites. The visit aimed to assess the status of ongoing work and ensure adherence to safety standards.
The officers were joined by senior representatives from PMC M/s ICCS-Rodics Consortium and EPC Contractor M/s Patel Engineering Pvt. Ltd. During the inspection, Deputy Commissioner Yasin M. Choudhary emphasized the importance of strict adherence to industry-standard safety measures for the labourers working within the Head Race Tunnel. He issued clear instructions to the EPC contractor, urging them to ensure the rigorous implementation of safety protocols at the construction site.
The project’s progress on all fronts was thoroughly reviewed during the visit. Deputy Commissioner Yasin M. Choudhary provided further directions to the contractor to expedite the work, emphasizing its potential benefits for the general public.
While on-site, Deputy Commissioner Yasin M. Choudhary attentively listened to the concerns and complaints raised by the general public. He directed the relevant authorities to address both public concerns and the grievances of landowners whose land was acquired for the project.
Once completed, the Parnai Hydroelectric Project, with a capacity of 37.5MW, is expected to meet the energy needs of the local population, contributing to the overall benefit of the community. The visit underscored the administration’s commitment to ensuring the project’s timely completion and its positive impact on the region.
