Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain assessed the preparedness for the Republic Day Celebrations scheduled to take place on January 26, 2024, at Shaheed Major (Shaurya Chakra) Harminder Pal Singh Government College, Mohali.
She mentioned that, in anticipation of the visit by Punjab Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains, the administration is gearing up for district-level Republic Day celebrations to make it a colorful and memorable event. The National Flag is set to be unfurled by the Chief Guest at 10 am sharp, followed by an inspection of the Parade specially prepared to commemorate the National Importance of the Day. The Chief Guest will then deliver a speech on this special occasion, which marks the 75th anniversary of the day our constitution came into force.
A grand march-past, including Police, Home Guards, and NCC volunteers, will be conducted to salute the National Flag and the Chief Guest. Tableaus based on welfare and development schemes will also be showcased in this program. A colorful bonanza of cultural activities will be presented by school children.
Despite the chilly weather, special care is being taken for the students who have to perform and participate in the program. Medical teams, refreshments, and drinking water will be available on the rehearsal days as well as on Republic Day.
She urged the officials overseeing various tasks to remain vigilant and diligent in their duties to avoid any reluctance.
Officers present on the occasion, including ADCs Viraj S Tidke, Damanjit Singh Mann, and Sonam Chaudhary, Navjot Kaur, MC Commissioner Divisional Forest Officer Kawardeep Singh, SP (H) Jyoti Yadav, SDM Chandrajyoti Singh, Joint Commissioner MC Kiran Sharma, AC (G) former Major Ms. Harjot Kaur Mavi, Chief Minister field Officer Inder Pal, AC (UT) Davy Goyal, Chief Engineer Local Government Naresh Batta, and DSP Prabhjot Kaur, were also in attendance.
