According to the meteorological department, an alert has been issued for several districts in the state for the next 24 hours due to dense fog. This includes Amritsar, Bathinda, Fatehgarh Sahib, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Moga, Patiala, Sangrur, and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. It’s advised to refrain from going out unnecessarily and to reduce vehicle speed. It has been noted that there’s a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in several districts of Punjab on December 30th and 31st.
It’s worth mentioning that the prevalence of fog is increasing day by day, impacting not only daily life but also railway transportation. Train delays have become frequent. Most long-distance trains are running hours late compared to their scheduled times.
