A spurt in new cases of the deadly vector borne disease (VBD) Dengue led to the increasing troubles of the health department in the state. Although, the experts continue to inform people about the required preventive measure so that the noose can be tightened around the disease. But the scenario still remains unchanged as the people continue to neglect the guidelines issued by the health department. The data made available by the concerned wing revealed that about 200 new cases a day are being reported in the state which is a matter of serios concern and that same has increased the troubles of the government.

If we take a glance at the statistics, then what comes to surface is that as many as 5671 new cases are reported in the state in 2021 so far which added to the woes of the health department as well as the state government. In this series, it is pertinent to mention that there were 2154 patients in the state till October 14 and the number went up to 5671 till October. 29, 2021 Thus it means that more than 3500 cases surfaced in two weeks.

It happened for the second time during the last six years that more than 5 thousands cases were reported in Haryana which seems to be an alarming situation to some extent. In continuation to this, it is worth mentioning that there were 9921 people affected by the disease in 2015, the high number during the last six years. Following this, as many as 2492 new cases were reported in 2016 and surprisingly a total of 4550 new patients were reported next year which forced the health department to come up with a foolproof strategy to tackle the disease. To some extent, the experts of the department succeeded in doing so as a total of 1936 new patients were reported in 2018. In this series it is worth mentioning that next years remained relieving as just 1207 and 1377 got infected by the disease in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

While reacting to the increasing cases of the disease, Dr Rakesh Saini , Deputy Director, VBD said that the health department is putting its best to eradicate the disease but the casual approach of the people emerges as the huge obstacle as they continue to neglect the guidelines as well as the preventive measures. So I appeal them to come up with extra care to defeat the disease. it is worth stating that Fatehabad, Sirsa, Sonipat, Kaithal and Panchkula emerges among the most affected districts by the Dengue in the state so far and In wake of this, the health department is required to mull over the ongoing scenario so that emergence of new cases can be brought to an end.
