With the consecration ceremony of the Grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya approaching, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is gearing up to organise Sundarkand paath recitals in all the Assembly constituencies in Delhi.

Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj announced that AAP MLAs and councillors would conduct a Sundarkand path every month in all the Assembly constituencies.
Responding to Bharadwaj’s statement, the BJP Delhi Chief urged the AAP to take action against former Minister Rajinder Pal Gautam, accusing him of hurting the sentiments of Sanatan Dharm followers.

Saurabh Bharadwaj, a senior AAP leader, revealed the plan for monthly Sundarkand paths in the 70 Assembly constituencies, starting from the following day. This initiative is not new for the party, as Bharadwaj had previously organized a prayer meeting in Chirag Dilli in 2020 and encouraged other MLAs to follow suit. Bharadwaj explained, “The AAP and its MLAs used to hold Sundarkand Paath across the city. A new organization is being built from the ground up, and the Sundarkand paath will be brought back in a structured way.

Tomorrow onwards, AAP MLAs, councillors, and party workers will hold a big Sundarkand paath. I would like to invite everyone to the event. This program will be held in every Vidhan Sabha and then in every ward and mandal monthly. There will be 2,600 of these events each month eventually.”

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva criticised Saurabh Bhardwaj, questioning the party’s stance on its former Minister Rajinder Pal Gautam, who allegedly disrespected Sanatan Dharm sentiments.

Sachdeva accused the AAP of only adopting religious gestures due to the fear of losing votes, contrasting it with their previous tolerance for anti-Sanatan Dharma
agendas.

He questioned whether MLA Rajinder Pal Gautam and Amanatullah Khan would also hold Hanuman Chalisa Paaths in their offices.
