The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conducted a demonstration near the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) headquarters on Wednesday to protest against the distribution of substandard drugs in government hospitals. Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva led hundreds of BJP workers in the protest, accusing the Kejriwal government of corruption and non-performance in the health sector.
Sachdeva stated that the health model of the Kejriwal government had been exposed for corruption and inefficiency. The protesters demanded the resignation of CM Arvind Kejriwal and Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj, holding them responsible for the distribution of fake and poor-quality medicines in Delhi government hospitals.
Addressing the demonstrators, Sachdeva mentioned that another sample of medicines had failed the test on the same day. He criticized the Kejriwal government, emphasizing that despite their claims of a pioneering health model, the reality revealed corruption and non-performance.
Sachdeva accused Kejriwal and Bhardwaj of knowing about the fake medicines since July 2023 but failing to take any corrective measures, implying their complicity in the medicines scam. He pledged to take the issue to every corner of the city and press for the resignation of the CM and the health minister. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari condemned Kejriwal for allegedly lying and cheating the people of Delhi, particularly the poor and women. Tiwari accused Kejriwal of playing with the lives of the less privileged by distributing fake medicines for personal gains. During the protest, slogans were raised against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj. The police had implemented security measures and set up barricades to manage the demonstration.
