The source further said that the Congress is looking for putting strong candidates in the national capital, where it has been out of power since 2014 after Arvind Kejriwal resigned as Chief Minister in a gap of 49 days when he formed government with the support of Congress.

The Congress could not win a single seat in the 70 member assembly in two consecutive assembly polls held in Delhi in 2015 and 2020.

The Congress in its first list had named Devendra Yadav, Sheila Dikshit’s son Sandeep Dikshit, Abhishek Dutt, Anil Chaudhary among others in its first list.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had already announced all candidates for the crucial assembly elections. Even the BJP is yetto finalise its candidates for the assembly polls.

Meanwhile, Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav told a press conference here, the party held interactions with people over what should be included in the manifesto.

“Our belief is that only those promises should be made that can be fulfilled. The Congress does not believe in mere talking,” Yadav said.

Meanwhile, former AAP MLAs Asif Ahmad Khan and Devinder Sehrawat joined the Congress on Monday.

Yadav said that ever since Arvind Kejriwal became the chief minister of Delhi, the Congress has maintained that the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party are together in misleading the people of Delhi with false promises.
