A shocking incident in north Delhi’s New Chandrawal area has led to a police investigation after a man claimed his wife attacked him with a sharp weapon during a domestic dispute. The attack reportedly occurred on the night of October 31, following a heated argument.
The victim, identified as 40-year-old Shambhu, alleged that his wife, Jagtara, assaulted him after they had an argument while he was under the influence of alcohol. According to Shambhu, after the initial disagreement, Jagtara left their rented home. However, she returned later with a sharp object and attacked him while he was asleep.
Shambhu sustained severe injuries to his private parts during the assault. Following the attack, Jagtara locked him in the room and fled the scene. His cries for help alerted neighbors, who managed to force open the door and find him severely injured.
Shambhu was initially taken to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital for emergency treatment and was later transferred to Safdarjung Hospital, where he is currently in stable condition. Police officials received a report of the incident shortly after it occurred.
Authorities are now actively searching for Jagtara, who remains at large. DCP Raja Banthia confirmed that an investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to apprehend the suspect. Neighbors have reported that disputes and physical confrontations between the couple were not uncommon, raising concerns about their domestic situation.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers within domestic relationships and the importance of seeking help in times of conflict.
