In a major triumph, the Western Range Crime Branch of Delhi Police has apprehended two dangerous criminals, including the internationally wanted dacoit Miraj, alias Mehraj. The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the investigation of a daring dacoity case involving the theft of Rs 2 Crores from PS Ashok Vihar.
Acting on confidential information, the police team laid a meticulously planned trap near the village of Dhulsiras, Dwarka. The operation took a dramatic turn when the accused opened fire on the police team.

Simultaneously, his accomplice Sahid fired a shot that narrowly missed HC Gaurav. In swift retaliation, the team successfully wounded Miraj in the leg, while Sahid was bravely subdued during his attempt to reload his weapon. A total of six rounds were exchanged during the intense confrontation.

Miraj, identified as a Bangladeshi national, stands as the prime suspect in a high-profile armed dacoity and robbery case that shook Ashok Vihar on May 7.
The dacoits terrorized the businessman into disclosing the location of his assets before fleeing with over a crore in cash and approximately 2 kilograms of jewelry. They left the family locked in a room, confiscating their mobile phones and digital video recorder setup to erase any traces of their identity.

The police have seized a sophisticated pistol and a “desi katta” from the accused. Miraj has been hospitalized under police custody, and legal proceedings are currently underway.
