Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory in preparation for New Year’s Eve celebrations in the national capital. Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) SS Yadav announced that on December 31, the police will implement necessary arrangements and deploy personnel at key locations where large gatherings are expected.

Speaking at a press conference, Special CP (Traffic) SS Yadav outlined the deployment areas, including Connaught Place, India Gate, Aerocity, Qutub Minar, Greater Kailash, Saket Mall, Netaji Subhash Place, Mukherjee Nagar area, Vasant Kunj Mall, EDM Mall, Pacific Mall, Champa Gali, Hudson lane, Hauz Khas, and other crowded places. Traffic control measures will be enforced in the Connaught Place area after 8 pm.

An advisory has also been issued for individuals travelling to New Delhi and Old Delhi railway stations on December 31, ensuring a smooth commute for those heading to the stations.

Special CP Yadav emphasized the importance of responsible behaviour, particularly discouraging drunk driving. He stated, “Drunken behaviour, drunk driving—such cases have always been strictly looked upon by the police. This time stricter actions will be taken.” The police will enforce rules and regulations rigorously to maintain a safe environment during the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

New Year’s Eve marks the last day of the year, leading up to the commencement of the new year on January 1, according to the Gregorian calendar. Public cooperation and adherence to traffic regulations are crucial for the successful and secure execution of New Year’s Eve events in the capital city.
