Delhi police arrested a man under operation “Varchaswa”, who was on the run after allegedly murdering his brother over a “money sharing” dispute after the two brothers sold their land at their native village. Two blind murder cases and one case of MV (motor vehicle act) theft were also solved with his arrest.

The police received a call on 02/03/21 at Chhawla police station, claiming the dead body was lying in Nala. On that call, local police reached the spot and found an unknown male dead body decomposed. After preliminary inquiries, the dead body was shifted to RTRM Hospital, Jaffarpur, New Delhi.

“The efforts were made by the police for the identification of the dead body but in vain. Later, a Post-mortem of the unknown dead body was conducted and cremation was done by the local police. In Post-Mortem Report, the autopsy surgeon opined the cause of death as “Asphyxia”. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 15/22 U/s 302 IPC was registered and an investigation was taken up,” the police statement read.

The gravity of the offense had led the Delhi police to send a team of AATS Dwarka led by Inspector Kamlesh Kumar to the spot immediately, and subsequently, informers were also deployed in local areas of Goyla Dairy.

On 05/01/22, information was received by SI Dinesh Kumar that one person who is involved in a murder case of his real brother is roaming in the area on a stolen motorcycle.

“Acting swiftly on the information, the team reached the spot and a trap was laid under the metro line Najafgarh, Nala Road, Dwarka. At about 11.00 AM, at the call of a secret informer, one motorcycle was intercepted by team AATS and the motorcyclist was overpowered. The name & address of the motorcyclist was revealed as Anand Kumar S/o Ajay Kumar R/o Arun Ka Makan, Goyla Dairy, Najafgarh, Delhi, Age 24 years,” the police statement read.

When the Delhi police asked the motorcyclist to produce the documents, he could not produce any ownership document of the motorcycle. On matching with records, the motorcycle recovered from his possession was found to be stolen from the area of Dabri, New Delhi.
