The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced on Friday that an individual could now carry two sealed bottles of alcohol inside the Delhi Metro. However, drinking in the metro is still prohibited.
“Two sealed bottles of alcohol per person are allowed to be carried on the Delhi Metro at par with the provisions on the Airport Express Line,” according to a DMRC statement. A committee comprised of CISF and DMRC officials reviewed the previous order. Carrying alcohol in the Delhi Metro was previously prohibited, except on the Airport Express Line.”
“However, drinking alcohol inside Metro premises is strictly prohibited,” the statement continued. Passengers on the metro are asked to maintain proper decorum while traveling.
