A Delhi resident recounted being reprimanded by a food delivery agent for ordering chicken biryani during the Diwali festival. The delivery agent suggested he should consume something “clean” during the festive season.
“I froze up with a guilty smile man, kya hi bolta mai unko,” the man shared on Reddit, expressing his surprise at the agent’s comments.
After the resident entered the OTP for verification, the delivery agent unexpectedly began scolding him instead of leaving. “Ye bahot galat kar rahe ho aap, theek nahi hai yeh,” the agent said, criticizing the man for his food choice.
Perplexed, the resident inquired about what was wrong with his order. The delivery agent responded that he should refrain from eating chicken or mutton until after Diwali and stick to “clean” foods.
The user admitted he felt intimidated by the agent’s anger and worried he might tamper with his food as a lesson. “What should I do? I have his number and name; he knows my home. If I report him, he might make a scene,” he expressed.
Many users reacted to his post with shock over the moral policing regarding food preferences. One commenter stated, “Man, this was one of my biggest fears – this kind of moral policing. You should report this dude and make sure to tell them over email or call that this person should never come to deliver at your place again.” Another user lamented, “Where is India going?”
