In the Kanjhawala case 11 police personnel from Delhi’s Rohini district, who were deployed in PCR vans have been suspended. Two Sub Inspectors, four Assistant Sub Inspectors, four Head Constables, and one Constable have been suspended.

Meanwhile, 11 police personnel have been arrested for their alleged negligence while being on duty when the accident occurred on 1 January.

In the early hours of New Year Anjali was killed after her scooty was hit by a car and for 13 kilometers was dragged under the vehicle on the city’s roads.

“As approved by the competent authority, a total of 11 Policemen of Rohini District deployed enroute at PCRs and pickets have been suspended,” the Delhi Police said.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday took cognizance of the detailed Delhi Police report prepared by Special Commissioner of Police Shalini Singh and ordered to suspend of police personnel who were deployed at the time of the incident.

Moreover, against the supervisory officers, a show cause notice will also be issued by the Delhi Police Commissioner as suggested by MHA.

However, MHA has directed Delhi Police to file a chargesheet against the culprits at the earliest.
