The Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government has failed to maintain the continuity of twelve colleges of Delhi University, which were established by the centre government with funds from the Delhi government, said Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) after a controversial letter to Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan by Delhi education minister Atishi Marlena regarding the merger of 12 colleges of Delhi University into Ambedkar University. The colleges run by the Delhi government have been in the news for a long time due to pending salaries for teachers and timely budget allocations to these colleges. Regarding this letter, ABVP said the Delhi government is conspiring to attack the sovereignty and autonomy of DU, and this decision of the Delhi government will put the future of thousands of students at stake. This is unfair.
This shows that the government has till now completely failed in its education policies within Delhi and is now conspiring to attack the sovereignty and autonomy of the university through this proposal. These twelve colleges were established from 1986 to 1994 by the central government under Delhi University using the education budget of the Delhi government.
