Delhi Excise Policy Case: SC Restricts Kejriwal from Going CM Office, Sign Files While Out on Bail

The Supreme Court has granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal under specific conditions. Kejriwal is required to furnish bail bonds amounting to Rs. 50,000 along with one surety of the same amount, as directed by the Jail Superintendent.

As part of the conditions, Kejriwal is prohibited from visiting the Office of the Chief Minister and the Delhi Secretariat. Additionally, he is bound by the statement made on his behalf, agreeing not to sign official files unless it is necessary for obtaining clearance or approval from the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi

The Supreme Court clarifies that providing interim bail does not imply expressing an opinion on the substance of the case or the ongoing criminal appeal under its consideration.

This development follows legal proceedings related to the Delhi excise policy case, highlighting the ongoing legal matters and regulatory conditions surrounding his bail.
