Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently detained in Tihar jail in connection with the excise policy scam, appeared before a city court today, for a decision on his judicial custody, as his custody is ending on April 23, as reported.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claims that Tihar authorities have denied him insulin, which has caused controversy over his diabetes condition. To support his bail request, Kejriwal has been allegedly regularly devouring sweets and mangoes, according to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which has refuted this assertion.

AAP chairman and chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, has been administered insulin in Tihar Jail amid the ongoing dispute between the jail administration and the party.

Sources close to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claim that Kejriwal’s blood sugar levels have been consistently high, reaching a peak of 320. For the first time since his detention by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the excise policy scheme, he is receiving insulin treatment.
Amidst the exchange of accusations between Tihar authorities and the AAP regarding Kejriwal’s health, a city court has instructed AIIMS to establish a medical board to assess whether insulin is necessary to manage his blood sugar levels.
Kejriwal has accused jail authorities of withholding insulin, leading to a spike in his sugar levels. The jail administration refuted this, stating that Kejriwal did not raise the issue with doctors during consultations. Kejriwal disputed this denial, alleging it was a ploy to endanger his life, while AAP claimed it was a deliberate attempt to harm him.
In a letter to the jail administration, Kejriwal highlighted his consistently high sugar levels and reiterated his request for insulin, challenging the assertion that he never raised the issue during medical consultations.
Kejriwal said earlier on Monday that the Tihar Jail administration had released a fake and deceptive statement about his diabetes due to political pressure, claiming that he has been demanding insulin on a daily basis.
