In a recent development in the ongoing Delhi Excise policy case, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s legal team has decided to withdraw their application seeking permission for Kejriwal to consult his regular doctor via video conferencing. This decision was disclosed during the court proceedings of April 18, marking a notable shift in the case dynamics.

The ED counsel responded to this move by suggesting that the accused, might be preparing grounds for seeking bail. This observation adds a layer of speculation to the situation, hinting at potential legal maneuvers in the near future.

In the early development of this case, Kejriwal has filed a court application requesting approval for virtual consultations with his regular doctor due to fluctuating blood sugar levels. Special Judge Rakesh Syal instructed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to respond to the request, with the court scheduling a hearing on April 18th for further consideration.

The case concerns charges of money laundering and corruption related to the formulation and implementation of the excise policy for 2021–2022 by the Delhi Government, which was later canceled.
