Two terrorists—identified as Bhupender (alias Dilawar Singh) and Kulwant Singh of banned Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) group—were on Monday arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police after a gun battle. DCP Sanjeev Yadav of Delhi’s Special Cell said that a large number of arms including 6 pistols and 40 cartridges were recovered from the possession of the alleged terrorists, who were also wanted in quite a few cases in Punjab.

“Both had come to Delhi to collect a consignment of arms and ammunition from a UP-based supplier. The Special Cell got a tip-off regarding this and they formed a team of elite police officials. The delivery was done near Nirankari Ground around Saturday midnight. The police team was tracking the phone intercepts of the dealer. By tracking the locations and intercepting calls, the police came to know about their plan,” said Yadav.

According to information, the two came to Delhi by car on Saturday night to collect an illegal consignment of arms, and they were about to return to Punjab in the same cab. The Special Cell team laid a trap and the terrorists were asked by the police team to surrender but they opened fire instead.
