Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has set up a Covid-19 testing facility at the Terminal 3 of the airport to conduct Covid tests of international passengers who will be landing in the city. The facility is expected to start from mid-September and this will also be the first such arrangement among Indian airports.

All the international passengers who will be arriving at Delhi airport will undergo the RT-PCR test and if the test result is negative, the passengers will be allowed to board the connecting domestic flight and will not need to undergo any institutional quarantine. In case of a positive result, the passengers will be processed in line with applicable ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) protocols by the state authorities. A DIAL spokesperson further added,” Results of samples collected at the laboratory will be declared within 4-6 hours to the incoming passengers. Until the results are confirmed, passengers will be isolated at the waiting lounge or may opt to stay in a hotel.”
