Defence Accounts Department Celebrates Foundation Day in Chandigarh

The foundation day of the Defence Accounts Department (DAD) under the Ministry of Defence was celebrated today in the office of the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (PCDA) Army, Sector-9A, Chandigarh. Addressing the gathering, Shri Dinesh Singh IDAS, Principal Controller highlighted the achievements of the Defence Accounts Department, which is one of the oldest departments of the Government of India.
Before the celebration started all the Officers and staff of DAD successfully participated in the “SWACHHATA HI SEVA” Campaign, a massive cleanliness drive of the Gol, in the office and residential Complex of PCDA (Army) Chandigarh.
Various programs and events were organized during the week prior to 1st October 2023 to commemorate DAD Day 2023. These include Drawing Competitions for children of employees, Sports events in different categories, cultural programs etc. where all the officers, staff, and their family members participated enthusiastically.
Trophies, cash prizes, and citations were given to winners of different categories and their children. Awards were given in the categories – Awards for Outstanding Performance; Rajbhasha Awards; Award for Meritorious Children; Awards for Sporting events; Prizes for Drawing Competition for Children and Awards for Cultural Activities.
The Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Army) Chandigarh is a regional office of the Defence Accounts Department, which renders services regarding accounting, audit, and financial advice to approximately 1300 Units and formations of the Indian Army (Western Command) spreading across six states. The PCDA (Army) Chandigarh also releases pay & and allowances to Military Personnel and Defence Civilian Staff and Officers through a vast network of 76 subordinate offices.
