In a meeting with officials, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain has announced a plan to alleviate traffic at Airport Road in Mohali by developing the IT City-Kurali National Highway 205-A as an alternative route.
In the meeting, DC Jain emphasised the need to resolve bottlenecks in several National Highway projects in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar District. The key highlights of the meeting were- 30 percent of the IT City to Kurali NH 205-A project is already completed, with a commitment to meeting the stipulated timeline for completion, addressing the issue of pending possession of a one-kilometre stretch, progress updates on the Sirhind-Mohali NH-205-AG project, compensations approved and disbursed for the Amabala Kalamb and Ambala Chandigarh GreenField projects, concerns over delays in awards for land related to Zirakpur Bypass, upcoming installation of traffic lights in Kharar to streamline congestion. DC Jain emphasised the need for daily monitoring of these critical projects to ensure timely completion. This approach is expected to bring relief to the people of Mohali, who have long endured traffic at Airport Road.
