Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar Mrs Aashika Jain while taking part in Dussehra Pooja at the ground, opposite 7 Square Apartments, Sector 78, Mohali, called for thwarting the menace of drugs to commemorate Vijay Dashmi in true spirit.
Appreciating the Dussehra Committee Mohali for installing another statute of Drugs this time to set it on fire as a symbol of mass awareness of Punjab residents as another victory of Good over the prevailing evil of drugs, she said that we observe the Vijay Dashmi as the triumph of Good over the Evil but now the Evils have taken over as drugs and another wrong deeds, which need immediate attention to end them to save the society particularly young generation.
She said that the evils have definitely its end and we hope by reviving the oldest precedence of setting the evils on fire, we must win over the prevailing evils too.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed gratitude to the management committee for arranging Dussehra Mela for the last 46 years to convey a good message to the coming generations.
The Deputy Commissioner also disclosed that the SAS Nagar soon would have a convention centre for holding the Gala Gatherings in Mohali as the GMADA is already working on it.
