Aishwarya Rai Bachchan enjoys a massive global fanbase, celebrated for her beauty and captivating performances. Recently, former UK Prime Minister David Cameron revealed his admiration for the actress during remarks at the NDTV World Summit. He shared that “Devdas” is his favorite Bollywood film, mentioning, “I had the great pleasure of meeting Aishwarya Rai when I was Prime Minister, and I liked the film called “Devdas”. I am a big admirer of hers and that extraordinary Bollywood family.”

In “Devdas”, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and released in 2002, Aishwarya portrayed the character of Paro, alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit in key roles.

Cameron also discussed his recent viewing of Hotel Mumbai, directed by Anthony Maras, which he described as a “harrowing portrayal” of the tragic events that occurred in the city. He emphasized the importance of acknowledging the ongoing battle against terrorism, stating, “Despite ongoing wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, we have this challenge of defeating extremist Islamic terror, which affects both your country and mine.”

Returning to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the actress recently attended the IIFA Awards at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, where she won the Best Actress award for her role as Nandini in Mani Ratnam’s “Ponniyin Selvan: II”. Ratnam himself received the Best Director award for the film. An Instagram video posted by IIFA captured a heartwarming moment of Aishwarya touching Mani Ratnam’s feet on stage, followed by an embrace, with the caption stating, “Aishwarya and Mani Ratnam: perfect duo.” The duo has collaborated on several projects, including “Iruvar”, “Ravan”, and “Guru”.

Crowned Miss World in 1994, Aishwarya has starred in numerous iconic films, including “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”, “Guzaarish”, “Guru”, “Jodhaa Akbar”, “Raincoat”, “Mohabbatein”, “Bride & Prejudice”, and “Chokher Bali”. She is a regular presence at prestigious international events like the Cannes Film Festival and Paris Fashion Week. Her most recent performance was in “Ponniyin Selvan: II”, where she played dual roles as Nandini and her mother, Mandakini Devi.
