In an exciting finale on January 31st, DAV College Cricket Academy, Chandigarh emerged victorious by defeating Sunrise Cricket Academy, Zirakpur by 71 runs. The triumph secured DAV College Cricket Academy the title of the 2nd Late RP Singh Memorial Boys U-19 Cricket Tournament, held at the IVCA Cricket Ground in Derabassi.
The event witnessed Sh. Vivek Atray, former IAS officer and motivational speaker, serving as the Chief Guest. He, along with Smt. Harminder Kaur, widow of Late Sh. RP Singh, Sh. Kanwar Virdi (Women’s Team Selector of UT Cricket Association), Sh. Bhupinder Singh, Sh. Varinder Chopra, Sh. Amarjit Kumar, Sh. Prem Kaushal, and Sh. Inderjit Singh of Haryana Sports Welfare Association (registered), distributed the prizes.
Addressing the audience, Vivek Atray expressed his appreciation and congratulations to the organizers for their commitment to promoting cricket at the grassroots level. He commended their efforts in providing a platform for budding cricketers, especially those from rural and backward areas in the tri-city region, to showcase their talent on significant grounds. Atray extended his congratulations and best wishes to the organizers, recognizing their consistent efforts in organizing such prominent tournaments across various age categories for both men and women.
