Following a stellar all-round performance, India secured a spot in the final by defeating New Zealand with a 70-run victory in a thrilling semifinal on Wednesday. Their opponent in the final will be Australia.
Various players, including Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja, were seen on the team bus in Ahmedabad, all of whom played crucial roles in India’s semifinal victory at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Star spinner Kuldeep Yadav was observed exchanging greetings with the team bus driver.
Earlier in the day, India’s standout all-rounder, Jadeja, earned the ‘Fielder of the Match’ award for his exceptional performance in the semifinal against New Zealand. Suryakumar Yadav presented Jadeja with the Best Fielder medal in a dressing room ceremony following India’s impressive 70-run win.
Remaining undefeated in the tournament, Team India showcased an all-encompassing performance in the semifinals against New Zealand. Virat Kohli, India’s determined number three, made history by achieving fifty hundred in one-day international cricket. India set a formidable score of 397/4, putting significant pressure on New Zealand.
Leading India’s bowling efforts was Shami, who successfully thwarted a resilient New Zealand response led by Daryl Mitchell’s 134, the right-hander’s second century against India in the competition. Shami has now become the leading wicket-taker in the competition, securing 24 wickets from six games at an outstanding average of 9.13.
