To bring before everyone the murder of democracy committed by BJP nominated councilor Anil Masih (Presiding Officer) and councilors in the election of Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation on 30th January. A press conference was held today on behalf of Aam Aadmi Party Chandigarh by showing the video on the big screen.
The conference was presided over by Chairman of Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Co-in-charge AAP Chandigarh Dr. SS Ahluwalia addressed. On this occasion, senior AAP leaders Meena Sharma, Abha Bansal and councilors Kuldeep Kumar, Jasveer Singh Ladi, Damanpreet Singh, Ram Chander Yadav, Prem Lata, Manowar, Suman Sharma, Jaswinder Kaur, Neha Musawat and Yogesh Dhingra were also present.
Dr. SS Ahluwalia, while showing the video of the election day on January 30, said that it is clearly visible in the video that on that day, 20 votes went to the joint candidate of AAP and Congress, Kuldeep Kumar, and 16 votes went to BJP. BJP’s minority cell general secretary, nominated councilor and presiding officer Anil Masih deliberately rejected 8 votes of Kuldeep Kumar AAP Mayor candidate by using a pen to make the BJP candidate win, which has been captured on camera. Dr. Ahluwalia further said that democracy has been murdered as part of a complete conspiracy by BJP in the Municipal Corporation elections.
BJP Councilor Kanwarjit Rana, Nominated Councilor Satinder Sidhu, Councilor Harjeet Singh, Councilor Kuljeet Sandhu, Nominated Councilor Amit Jindal, Councilor Jasmanpreet Singh, Former Mayor Anup Gupta, Nominated Councilor Dr. Ramnik Bedi, Nominated Councilor Naresh Panchal and other BJP councilors forcefully removed the cameras installed on Anil Masih, so that his dark deeds are not captured on camera. But unfortunately after some time the cameras start working again and 8 votes which were deliberately rejected by Anil Masih are captured on camera. He further said that yesterday the Chief Justice of the Honorable Supreme Court also made very strong remarks on Anil Masih and said that democracy has been murdered in the Chandigarh Mayor elections. Which has been done by Anil Masih. This cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.
The Honorable Supreme Court has said that Anil Masih should be prosecuted so that no one can commit such acts again. He said that now everything has come in front of people through cameras. There is a lot of anger amoang the people of the country towards BJP. People are demanding that the Mayor who was forcefully appointed by BJP in Chandigarh Municipal Corporation should be removed.
He said that the people of Chandigarh will never forgive BJP, they will be punished for the murder of democracy by BJP.
