Covid-19 continues to affect IPS, IAS, MP and MLAs in Haryana adversely, and the state is witnessing an acute spike in new cases that has increased the troubles of the government as well as the health department. In wake of the spurt in the fatal disease, the Health department along with the government continues to mull every possible strategy to tackle the virus. Not only commoners, the disease has affected the IPS and IAS officials along with their families, adding woes to their problems. Besides, a string of politicians belonging to the ruling faction and opposition were reported infected by the disease.
Nearly half a dozen senior IPS officials including the ADGP namely Navdeep Singh Virk, who holds the portfolio of head of law and order, His wife Kala Ramchandaran, who holds the portfolio of Principal Secretary to Transportation Department and Shatrujeet Kapoor who is Director General , State Vigilance Bureau. Remaining infected IPS officials are Rajesh Kumar, SP of Rewari, Kamaldeep Goyal, SP of Yamunanagar and Mohit Handa , DCP in Panchkula. Apart from mentioned above, a senior IAS officer PK Das who is an Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) and the Financial Commissioner Revenue (FCR) also has tested positive recently. Besides, another senior IAS official Saket Kumar and his wife Dr Mukta who holds the charge of CMO, were affected by the Corona.
Besides, like the second wave, the disease continues to affect legislators and MP’s in Haryana. In this series, it is pertinent to mention that Haryana Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala has tested positive for COVID-19 on January 8, 2022. The Jannayak Janta Party chief and his father Ajay Chautala tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. He informed about his infection on Twitter and said he has isolated himself. He also requested everyone who came in contact with him in the last few days to get themselves tested. Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala along with the party stalwart and a Rajyasabha MP Deepender Singh Hooda had tested positive for Covid recently. Narendera Gupta , a BJP legislator and an MLA from Faridabad assembly was tested positive for corona
In wake of the increasing corona cases, the Health Minister Anil Vij has started visiting health institutions and hospitals to ensure the proper stock of the amenities and the health services. Vij also conducted a surprise inspection at the Panchkula Civil Hospital on January 7, 2022 and examined the functioning of the oxygen plant there so that no shortage or technical errors can take place in future.
Amid the spurt in Covid-19 cases, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the state is braced up with adequate arrangements to tackle the virus spread.
