India added 2,756 new covid cases making the total tally of covid-19 cases 4,46,12,013, while the active cases dipped to 28,593. The Union Health Ministry updated the data on Sunday. The death toll climbed to 5,28,799.

According to the government, the national COVID-19 recovery rate improved to 98.75%, and active cases make up 0.06 per cent of all infections.

The number of active COVID-19 instances has decreased by 658 in the last 24 hours.

According to the health ministry, the weekly positivity rate was 1.28 per cent and the daily positivity rate was 1.15 per cent.
4,40,54, 621 persons have recovered from the illness, while the case mortality rate has been reported at 1.19 per cent.

India’s COVID-19 tally crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.
The country crossed the grim milestone of two crores on May 4 and three crores on June 23 last year. It crossed the four-crore mark on January 25 this year.

According to the ministry, 218.97 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.

On May 4 and June 23 of last year, the nation reached the depressing two and three-crore populations, respectively. On January 25 of this year, the four-crore threshold was crossed.

The ministry reports that the country has already received 218.97 crore doses of the Covid vaccine as part of the widespread vaccination campaign.

Two deaths in Maharashtra, one in each of Delhi, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal, and one in Tamil Nadu are among the five additional fatalities reported in the past 24 hours.
