The hearing on accusations against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler was deferred on Friday in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court. The accused’s counsel informed the court that certified copies of the case file had not been provided. This case is about the 1984 killing in the Pul Bangash Gurudwara.

After hearing statements from Defence counsel Manu Sharma and CBI’s Counsel, Special CBI Judge Vikas Dhull adjourned the case until November 21, 2023. Advocate Manu Sharma stated that he has not received certified copies of certain case documents.

He also asked the court to confirm whether the whole record of the CBI and Delhi police investigations had been delivered to the court. The ACMM court had ordered Karkardooma Court to produce the whole record. Amit Jindal, lawyer for the CBI, said that the case record after 2007 had reached the court.

If the record of the Delhi police probe reached the court, the court stated it would have it verified. In May of this year, the CBI filed a supplemental charge sheet against former Congress MP Jagdish Tytler. The alleged killings of three Sikhs in the Pul Bangash area in 1984 are the subject of this investigation.

Tytler appeared in court on August 5 in response to the summons issued by the court after taking cognizance of the supplemental charge sheet. Following that, he appeared through video conferencing.

Previously, on August 4, the sessions court granted him anticipatory bail after hearing his bail plea. On May 20, the CBI submitted the supplemental charge sheet.
This case is linked to the November 1, 1984, death of three people in the Pul Bangash area.

On May 20, the Central Bureau of Investigation filed a charge sheet against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in a case relating to anti-Sikh riots in 1984, following the killing of India’s then-prime minister on October 31, 1984. The chargesheet names Congress leader Jagdish Tytler, who was a Member of Parliament at the time, as an accused.
