The acquitted accused was the Delhi unit president of the All India Students’ Association (AISA), and a rape case was brought against him in 2016 at police station Vasant Kunj North in response to a student complaint.

On July 21, Additional Session Judge Pawan Kumar acquitted accused Anmol Ratan of rape and other accusations, giving him the benefit of the doubt and finding the prosecutrix’s testimony lacking in quality and reason.
