Congress on Friday welcomed the Supreme Court decision to grant bail to Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal till June 1 and also hoped that former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who has.also been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will also get due justice.
In a video statement, Congress media and publicity department chairman Pawan Khera said, “We welcome the SC decision to grant bail to Kejriwal.”
“We also hope that the Prime Minister gets enought time after June 4 when he becomes former Prime Minister to introspect while sitting in Sabarmati Ashram at the kind of politics he has indulged into,” he said.
“We hope that former Kharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren also gets due justice,” Khera added.
Even Sandeep Dikshit, son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit also welcomed the SC decision and said now even Soren should get bail.
He also said that with the release.of Kejriwal on bail ahead of the polling in the national capital on May 25, the INDIA bloc will get more power during its campaigning.
The remarks from Congress leaders came soon after the top court on Friday afternoon granted interim bail to Kejriwal till June 1.
