Even on the last day of Haryana Assembly, the ruling and opposition parties remained eyeball to eyeball over several issues on February 28. There were many such occasions in the assembly session that started from the Question Hour when a fierce fight between the MLAs of both the parties was witnessed. The debate in the House on the issue of providing water to Rajasthan escalated so much that Congress MLAs went sloganeering in front of the Speaker’s chair and staged a walk out of the House. Apart from this, there was a heated debate between both the parties on the calling attention motion moved by the opposition MLAs on the Rs 100 crore scam of the Cooperative Department in the House and Opposition MLAs in the House said that even in the last 10 years, the government has not been able to even get the audit done in the Cooperative Department which clearly indicates that the BJP-JJP led state government carries a casual approach towards the corruption.

Apart from this, on the matter, Cooperative Minister Banwari Lal said that the previous governments never came up with any necessary steps to get the audit done but we are getting it done. Despite this, the opposition Congress and INLD MLAs continued to corner the government, while in a reaction to this defending the government the Chief Minister said that a separate Special Task Force (STF) will be formed under the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) which will only investigate the irregularities of the cooperative societies. The debate inside the House between INLD MLA Abhay Singh Chautala and Home Minister Anil Vij continued even on the last day. Amid the ongoing discussion on the calling attention motion on the cooperative scam, Abhay Chautala while asking a question said that two dozen scams have surfaced in the state during the BJP’s regime but investigation report of none has tabled. Speaking directly to Anil Vij, he said that the liquor scam was investigated by three agencies but till date the investigation report is not known. While reacting to this, Anil Vij said that he has already tabled the details about the investigation report of the case in the House and it is not necessary that every investigation report should be shown or told to him. On this, Abhay said that if any case is investigated, then what is the objection in showcasing its report to everyone in the House. Notably, a day earlier, on 27th February, Abhay Chautala had asked Anil Vij to divulge details pertaining to his security after he had received death threats. After this, Anil Vij stood up to leave the House. Abhay had asked why are you running away from the House instead of answering.

In continuation to aforesaid, it is pertinent to mention that verbal spat between the ruling party and the opposition in the House over the issue of water shortage and giving consent to provide water to neighboring Rajasthan under the Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) signed recently. Kiran Chaudhary had raised the issue of water, after which there was a heated debate between him and Agriculture Minister JP Dalal as usual. After this, Congress MLA and former speaker Raghbir Kadyan started creating a ruckus on the issue of providing water to Rajasthan under MOU. On this, Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta said that he should not do running commentary, otherwise he would be named and thrown out of the House. But even after this, he continued speaking and seeing this, the Speaker warned him again while standing from the chair, and somehow he sat on his seat on the insistence of party MLAs Rao Chiranjeevi and Kiran Choudhary.
