Congress will focus on the issue of caste-based census in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The party’s national president, Mallikarjun Kharge, gave clear instructions in a meeting held here today with party officials from across the country that district and block committees should pay special attention to minority, SC, ST, and OBC voters to ensure their votes are not divided.

The meeting clarified that the Congress will vigorously raise the issue of caste-based census. Issues such as inflation, unemployment, and concerns of farmers and labourers will also be emphasized during Rahul Gandhi’s Justice Yatra, which commences on January 14. The new issue of “Donate for Justice” will be included in this journey.

After facing defeats in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, it was believed that the Congress would steer clear of Mandal politics. However, today’s meeting made it clear that the Congress will stick to its old agenda.

It is being speculated that the Congress will attempt to play the caste politics card among Hindus who gathered under the name of Ram Mandir. Congress is facing a significant crisis over the issue of Mandal, which is why it is expected to focus on issues such as inflation and unemployment, along with a caste-based census. One of the agendas of today’s meeting was also to ensure the success of Rahul’s journey.

Officials from across the state were given directions on how to make this Justice Yatra as successful as the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, along with most officials, the state president, MLAs, and chief ministers were present at the meeting.
