The Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elections concluded on November 25. Now, everyone awaits the results of these elections. During the election campaigns, leaders from different parties attacked each other, leading to several notices issued by the Election Commission. In a case involving Congress leader Rahul Gandhi being termed a national embarrassment, Congress leaders have lodged a complaint against Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan with the Election Commission.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had referred to Rahul Gandhi as a national embarrassment during a campaign in the Nainwa constituency of Bundi district on November 22. Congress leaders raised objections to this statement, considering it a violation of the Model Code of Conduct, and filed a complaint on the C-Vigil app of the Election Commission. However, the Election Department of Bundi deemed the meeting in Nainwa as outside the jurisdiction of the Bundi district and dismissed the case.
In this matter, Charmesh Sharma, a member of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee, accused the Election Commission of adopting biased practices in handling cases involving Congress party leaders. Under Sharma’s leadership, the Congress representatives submitted a memorandum on Tuesday evening to the Deputy Election Officer Hemraj Paridawal and the Control Room of the Election Commission in Bundi district, protesting against the Election Commission’s decision to consider the meeting in Nainwa outside Bundi district.
