Congress MLA receives death threat from alleged gangster Goldy Brar

The Bangur Nagar police in Malad, Maharashtra, have initiated an investigation after an alarming incident in which Congress leader and Malad West MLA Aslam Shaikh reportedly received a death threat from an individual claiming to be gangster Goldy Brar. The matter is currently under active inquiry.
Goldy Brar, also known as Satinderjeet Singh, is a fugitive Canadian gangster known for his close association with the incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Brar has a history of issuing threats, including to Bollywood star Salman Khan.
The formal police complaint was lodged by Vikram Kapoor, who serves as Aslam Shaikh’s personal assistant and lawyer, and also handles phone calls on the MLA’s mobile phone. According to the complaint, Kapoor received a call on Shaikh’s mobile phone on October 5. The caller introduced himself as Goldy Brar and requested to speak to Shaikh.
As outlined in the First Information Report (FIR), when Kapoor identified himself, the caller made a chilling statement, saying, “Main Goldy Brar bol raha hu. Main Aslam Shaikh ko do din me goli maarkar udaane wala hu. Ye Aslam Shaikh ko bata do” (This is Goldy Brar speaking. I am going to shoot Aslam Shaikh dead in two days. Tell this to Aslam Shaikh). The complainant promptly provided the police with two contact numbers associated with the caller.
In response to Kapoor’s statement, the Bangur Nagar police have registered an FIR under sections 506(2) and 507 of the Indian Penal Code against the registered user of the two mobile numbers. Law enforcement has initiated contact with the service provider and is actively working to gather relevant details pertaining to this incident. As of now, neither Aslam Shaikh nor Vikram Kapoor has made any comments regarding the situation. The investigation continues to unfold.
