Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, unveiled the national emblem on the roof of the new Parliament building on which Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary questioned the move on Tuesday and called it a solo show.
Taking to Twitter, Chowdhary tweeted, “The solo show of unveiling the national emblem by PM @narendramodi Ji, has already drawn a flurry of questions including constitutional propriety, let alone democratic values. We are all familiar with our PM’s #Who_Cares_Whom” attitude.”
Moreover, on Monday, All India Masjlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi also objected to the unveiling of the Ashoka Pillar atop the new Parliament Lok Sabha building by PM Narendra Modi.
“Constitution separates powers of parliament, govt & judiciary. As head of govt, @PMOIndia shouldn’t have unveiled the national emblem atop new parliament building. Speaker of Lok Sabha represents LS which isn’t subordinate to govt. @PMOIndia has violated all constitutional norms,” tweeted Owaisi.
Meanwhile, giving information about this, the officials said that this national emblem has been created with bronze, which has a total weight of 9,500 kg and height is 6.5 metres. The concept and process of casting the National Emblem on the new Parliament House roof have undergone eight stages of preparation, from clay modelling/computer graphics to bronze casting and polishing.
However, Prime Minister Modi also interacted with workers engaged in the construction of the new Parliament. Notably, during the occasion, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Minister of Urban Affairs Hardeep Puri were present.
