As Rajasthan gears up for the upcoming legislative elections, the Congress party is demonstrating an active and robust approach in its preparations. Congress leaders are systematically delving into discussions regarding the allocation of election tickets, as they make their way through different constituencies.
A significant move in this direction came from the All India Congress Committee (AIICC), which recently appointed parliamentary observers. Building on this, these observers convened on August 11th at the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) war room, and subsequently, on Thursday, they held individual meetings at the Lok Sabha level, focusing on their respective regions. These dedicated parliamentary observers have initiated substantive conversations centered around the allocation of crucial election tickets.
Amid ongoing accusations of nepotism, the Congress party remains entrenched in the realm of dynastic politics. The progeny of Congress leaders continue to wield influence as legislators, Members of Parliament, and in pivotal administrative roles. Aradhana Mishra, daughter of Rajya Sabha MP Premod Tiwari and a legislator hailing from Uttar Pradesh, staunchly defends this practice. She contends that granting election tickets to family members of Congress leaders isn’t inherently flawed. Eligibility, she asserts, is the ultimate criterion; if they exhibit the prowess to secure victory, tickets are duly granted.
Mishra highlights the expansive canvas of the Congress party and underscores that those introducing their progeny into the political arena shouldn’t fall under undue scrutiny. She reaffirms the party’s resolute commitment and policy: ticket allocation hinges on contributions to the party’s welfare, the display of humility, and the embodiment of credibility. The wheels of candidate selection for electoral tickets are now in motion within the Rajasthan Congress, with a vigorous process underway. The Rajasthan Congress party has enlisted the involvement of 25 parliamentary observers, who are presently immersed in discussions across their respective Lok Sabha constituencies since Thursday. For observers unable to convene meetings on the aforementioned day, imminent participation in talks regarding their specific Lok Sabha seats is on the horizon.
Meetings have been orchestrated at distinct venues throughout Jaipur, the capital city, encompassing both the urban and rural sectors. Notably, during the session dedicated to Jaipur city, Aradhana Mishra, a notable figure as Congress legislative party leader and UP legislator, assumed the mantle of parliamentary observer for the Jaipur Lok Sabha. In a spirited rally, she vocalized the rallying cry “Abki Baar Aatho Par” (Sweep All Eight Seats This Time).
As a parliamentary observer, Aradhana Mishra cast a spotlight on the tangible impact of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s adept leadership. She firmly contends that this juncture will witness a monumental shift in Rajasthan’s trajectory, including Jaipur, leading to a transformative historical paradigm. The meeting boasted a substantial attendance of Congress leaders and dedicated workers, including the district president of Jaipur city, A.R. Tiwari, Minister Mahesh Joshi, and MLAs Rafiq Khan, Ameen Kagzi, Archana Sharma, and Jyoti Khandelwal, among others.
