Congress MLA Maman Khan will now be questioned on 31 August in connection with the violence in Haryana that broke out in Nuh. Earlier, the MLA had been given time until yesterday, 30 August. The legislator has been accused of having a role in inciting the 31 July violence.
A Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) is looking into this matter. Nuh police will interrogate Congress MLA from Ferozepur Jhirka Assembly constituency, Maman Khan, in the case of Nuh violence today. Earlier, a notice was issued to the MLA to appear on 30 August.
However, due to undisclosed reasons, Ferozepur Jhirka MLA Khan has now been called to Nagina police station on 31 August. The SIT will “inquire deeply” about his role in the whole matter. Ferozepur Jhirka DSP Satish Kumar has been tasked with heading the SIT and it is expected that police will seek answers from MLA Maman Khan in the presence of the DSP.
The police force has reportedly prepared a long list of questions for the same. On the other hand, Home Minister Anil Vij on Tuesday made a big claim that areas that MLA Khan visited on the days leading up to the fateful Braj Mandal Yatra (ie, 28, 29 and 30 July) also witnessed incidents of violence on the same day as in the Nuh district. Along with this, a message was also posted on social media by MLA Maman Khan. However, it was later removed.
At present, the SIT is probing the extent of the MLA’s involvement in the Nuh violence. There will be a serious inquiry regarding this. Along with this, it is being claimed that some people have been arrested in connection with the violence, who have told the police about being supporters of the MLA
