Telangana BRS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has already announced that they will not join opposition parties’ meeting, as Congress is one of the main participants. Rahul Gandhi has also made it clear that if BRS is invited to the opposition meeting scheduled to be held in Bangalore in mid-July. Suddenly, Samajwadi Party Chief went to Hyderabad and met Chief Minister KCR. After the meeting, he has also announced that BRS is with the opposition parties to fight against BJP. Congress senior leaders are quite unhappy with the meeting between Akhilesh and KCR. Recently, Rahul Gandhi went to Telangana and vehemently attacked the KCR government. State Congress leaders are up against the ‘misrule’ of KCR. They are dead against any alliance, either at the state level or national level, with BRS. If the Samajwadi Party brings BRS to the meeting of the opposition parties, it is sure that Congress will have no option but to skip the meeting. A section of Congress leaders suspect that it is the move of the SP to keep the Congress party away from the driving seat of the opposition conclave.
Shinde Camp of Maha Demands More Ministerial Berths
There is visible uneasiness in the Eknath Shinde Shiv Sena camp after the joining of Ajit Pawar in the state government. There is speculation that more ministers will be inducted into the cabinet from Ajit Pawar’s NCP. To avoid the anti-defection law, Ajit Pawar needs the support of two-thirds of MLAs. Many of them are now demanding a cabinet berth to side with him. This has created uneasiness in the Chief Minister’s camp. Their MLAs are now also demanding cabinet berths. Moreover, it is also being speculated that Praful Patel may get a berth in the central cabinet when the reshuffle takes place.
Will Priyanka Be Working President of Congress?
If insiders are to be believed, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is going to finalize the members of the Working Committee, the highest policy-making body of the party. There is a proposal to create a post of Working President in the party. One of the names under consideration is AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. It is also being discussed within the party that perhaps Rahul is not in favor of promoting Priyanka as Working President. The reason given is that it will be a weapon for the BJP to campaign on dynasty politics. Rather, Priyanka will continue as General Secretary in the party, as she was doing.
